What credit card is best to re-establish credit after bankruptcy with lowest apr? |
What credit card is best to re-establish credit after bankruptcy with lowest apr? All these people are giving you mis-information. You can be approved for mortgages and car loans 1 day after bankruptcy, it all depends on your credit score. But before we go there, I am assuming you have recently filed and or have been discharged and are wondering what to do next. Step #1) go to www.lifeafterbankruptcy.com and check out this site. It is run by Stephen Snyder who is the expert on recovering from Bankruptcy. He conducts free seminars nationwide for people to show them what they can do after their bankruptcy. Step #2) Go to www.annualcreditreport.com and get copies of all three of your credit reports. Review your reports. What you want to accomplish is to make sure that all the accounts that have been discharged in bankruptcy are either reporting "Included in Bankruptcy" (which is still negative, but less than charge offs with multiple late payments) or to be deleted. You have the right to dispute them yourself or hire a competent lawyer who follows the law to do it for you. Step #3) Go to www.myfico.com and learn about FICO credit scoring. For the next several years you should be obsessed about you FICO credit scores as someone who is dieting to reach a certain weight. Step #4) Re-establish credit. Once you have reviewed your reports and you feel you have them as clean as possible then you need to start placing positive accounts on your credit files. A car loan is a good place to start. Ask lender what their policy is concerning BK( never, 1 year after discharge, etc.) before you apply. Department stores, Gas Company cards are a good place to start. Don't even think you will be approved for an unsecured card for at least 2 years. The best secured Visa card is offered by Wells Fargo. They have pretty much the same fees (low) as their regular cards with a higher interest rate(doesn't matter to you, you will be paying it off every month, right?) Their only criteria is that all of your accounts have to show as "Included in Bankruptcy" with no extra public records such as judgments and tax liens. Good Luck Source(s): www.lifeafterbankruptcy.com www.annualcreditreport.com www.myfico.com www.lexingtonlaw.com www.wellsfargo.com None go to www.daveramsey.com he will set you straight You cannot reestablish credit after bankruptcy. You have to wait a decade. This is not a joke. FRank is Wrong, you must wait three years before you can even start looking at getting vredit back, and then 7 years till you are in the clear and have it off your record. The best credit card is no credit card. www.daveramsey.com |
