What credit card is best for me?

I have paid off debts and want to build credit what company would approve me for a credit card to do this? I have never had one before.

Major credit cards (Visa, MC and Amex) Build credit the quickest. However, if you have had a history of bad credit, start with a store credit card. Or, go to your bank and ask them for a credit card. (A credit card tied to your bank is usually pretty easy to get, even if it has just a small limit) Once you have one, use that until you start to build a good credit history. (About a yearish) Then apply for a major credit card. Keep in mind, just having it doesn't help you. Use is every 3 or so months, and pay it off at the end of the month.
You could apply for any Visa Or Mastercard. If that doesn't work you can build credit in anything like buying a car or a Macy's card, Best Buy, Target.
none. they are all rip offs. just get a debit card with you bank.

if you have paid off your debt you can probably get a normal credit card because you have a credit history
Visa allows you to pay up for credit cards when you have little or no credit. This is really just a modified bank card, however, over time it actually builds credit like paying a regular credit card bill on time would do. For instance, send a $500 to them, get a card that has a max of $500, and you can go from there.

This also limits you to how much you can put on it, so you won't be tempted to spend money you don't have.
