Best way to get a credit card?

I'm ready to get a credit card. I've applied for a few online, and I have gotten no responses at all. It's getting a bit frusterating. Why is it taking them so long to respond, and does anyone have any advice on getting a credit card?

Hello my friend,

Thank you for taking the time to write to me about your issue of not being able to get a credit card.

You are caught in what is called a catch 22. You have to have a credit history to get credit, but if you have no credit, how do you build a history!

Well the first thing that you do is apply for a credit card like Victorias Secret. They will approve new borrowers. You will probably get a 200 credit line.

Then you apply for Capital One and they have a new credit program.

The next option is to go the secured card route, which I recommend to my clients, as this is the fastest way to build a credit score (SEE FICO.COM)

If you do this, you will then need to male a purchase on each card and pay doulbe payments for 6 months. After you do this for 6 months, you can buy a car, or whatever you want!

It is a great system! You just have to know how to get started! If you need any assistance, let me know!

Let me know!

Thanks So Much, and please provide positive feedback!

Have a great day !

It's your first credit card, so you're probably being denied for insuficent credit. It's one of the catch 22s. If you don't already have credit, you can't get it, but sometimes people are lucky are were able to slip through that. I got approved for a credit card when I took out a student loan to pay for my college. But, you shouldn't do that, just to get a credit card. You have to build up your credit somehow though. I think the first thing to do to build your credit would be to apply for a couple of gas cards.
Don't. I have had one since I was 18. I haven.t used it for nearly 5 years and I am still paying it off. Credits cards and store cards are the worst thing in the world. I really regret getting mine.
Apply through your bank
One: applying for credit online is a risky business, taking into account the scams involved.

Two: The more you apply to, the more points you get on your credit record. Don't keep applying! 7 max!

Three: Obtain your credit record from Equifax and Transunion (should be free, and available online). Do you have a mortgage? a car payment? Simple rule: Mortgage looks good, car payment looks bad.

Four: No Credit = bad credit. You probably know this. Consider applying for a credit card with a credit union! They give out cards to anyone (not to say you are just anyone).
try orchard bank or first premier bank- they are the easiest to get, but their fees are high. Be sure to read the terms and conditions first.
