Is it possible to get a business loan with a credit score of 580? |
I am seriously burned out at my job (who isnt..lol!), and I would love to open a business using the skills I have learned, but my credit is an issue. I would love to find out what credit score is needed and how easy/hard the process is. Thanks to everyone in advance!! Any score below 550 is considered awful so you are a bit above awful. I know the Small Business Administration can help small business owners but even they look at credit scores. You're going to have to get the score up a bit, I'm afraid. Even then, you'd need to present a viable business plan to the lender. If your score was 750, which is a great score, and you didn't have a business plan showing what you wanted to do, how you were going to get there and how you were going to repay the loan, no lender would make the loan until you show something that looks like a business that could succeed. You need to write a business plan. Why not work on raising your credit score first and while you're working on that, start mapping out your business plan. To raise your score, you need to pay all bills on time. Late payments are a big factor in low scores. Reduce your debt. If your credit cards are maxed out, you are going to have to get them paid off or at the very least paid down. Your debt on those cards needs to be under 30% of your credit limit. In other words, if you have a card with a $1000 limit, your balance due needs to be less than $300. Those are the two biggest factors to increase your score. Pay on time. Reduce your debt. And don't apply for any new credit cards. Having too many will also reduce your score. the best thing to do is to contact financial lenders in your area with your proposal.I f they see it best they will provide you with money.if not the use little you have then after some time it will be easy to get a loan since you have a set up business. |
