Would you be OK with a business giving you a store credit instead of cash back when you make a purchase? |
(example) if you went into a department store and purchased an item with cash, would you be OK with them giving you a store credit back instead of your money back? The store credit could be used on a future purchase. You would not be able to turn in your store credit for cash. You could also use your store credit in their catalogue if you desired. If you wanted cash back when you were making your purchase, you would have to inform the clerk ahead of time, otherwise you would automatically get the store credit. Once you receive the store credit for whatever reason, you can never exchange it in for cash. Thanks for your answer! No that irratates me. If I pay cash, and i was not happy with the item, I would expect cash back. What if the store doesnt have anything else I like, then they basically get to keep the crappy item and my money. Cash back or i dont shop in the first place. a lot of stores do this, most post their return policy as well so it is not a surprise the store where I work does this... most people ask when they buy something they think they might have to return so we tell them the policy and I would ask a store if I thought I might have to return something to them... mostly I would not be too happy but I understand why some stores do this.. usually its smaller stores. No I wouldn't. I would want my money back not store credit. I don't think I would shop at a store that had this kind of policy. Hell No! I didn't pay with Mika Credit, so I don't want Store Credit in return. I want cash just like I paid. Has the economy gotten that bad that stores have to guarantee your return by giving your change in store credit? I would not shop at that store unless they had something that I absolutely HAD to have AND I had EXACT CHANGE. What a rip-off. Most of the time people don't use their store credits or gift cards. Sorry, I am about to go off... |
