What city is the best to start a business( taxes wise plus other things) ATLANTA,GA or HOUSTON,TX? The Best city to start a business in is - the One where you live. Business start ups have a 95% failure rate because of under funding & knowledge . Don't go some place you don't live to start a biz, stay where you are at. Reduces cost and your Stress increasing success rate. What ever biz you want to start - work in the field or company for 2 years at least. I was raised in Houston and then I lived in Atlanta for 12 years after being in Houston for about 30 years. They are, in my opinion, about the same for starting a business. Houston is more diversified, has more ethnic communities. Atlanta has more young residents. The cost of living is about the same, I think the sales tax in Houston is around 8.75% and in Atlanta about 6.75%. There is a large merchandise mart in Atlanta. Houston has a much larger population than Atlanta. The weather in Houston averages in the 90's and can certainly top 100 with just as much humidity; and Atlanta is just a bit lower, but not by much. Atlanta has more of a divide between four seasons and Houston has hot, hot and hot, followed by a couple of months of wet cold at the first of the year. You should go check them both out, look around and see which one you feel more partial to starting a business. |
