I bought a curves for woman gym in march 06. Do I need to file my personal taxes and my business together?

or can I do my personal and then my business taxes.. Also if I do them with my personal is it only a Secudule C form and if I do it seperate whats the form I am supposed to use?

Wow, good for you. Good luck with that. Curves is a really good alternative for women. My wife went to one in Florida while she was prego.

Your business taxes are handled depending on what your capital structure is:

If you're a corporation or an LLC, you have to file seperately.

If you're a sole proprietorship or partnership (or LLP), you have to include your business income on your 1040.

If this last one applies to you, pay close attention to those adjustments at the bottom of the 1040, as some of them might apply to you.

As for your business, you have to keep a seperate set of books no matter what your business is, and the amounts you report on schedual C and 1040 are based on your books (always cash basis for taxes, not accrual).

If you've bought a franchise, the answer is the same. If your franchise is a sole prop., sched C and 1040. If your francise is owned by a corp, you get to file form 1120 for a corporation instead.
If you are the sole proprietor of the business - you just file a Schedule C showing income, and your expenses. If you have not doen it before, I recommend highly you get a tax preparer to help you. Depreciation of the equipment can get confusing. They can also make sure you're not forgetting any valuable deductions.
If you're a sole proprietor, you and your business are one entity, taxwise.

This is the time to hire someone to do your taxes. They will know the laws, the forms, the deductions, depreciations, time frames, business structures and a million other things that you (and I) do not know; in short, how to get the most and pay the least.

You shouldn't have to pay more than $300 - $500 -- and you can deduct it!!
you have to do the business taxes first. because if this is a single-member LLC, then youre basically reporting the business' activity on Schedule C of your individual tax return. you cannot file your individual tax return without the business activity.
