Recently lost money in car scam and need advice re tax situation?

Can I off set any of my recent loss due to scam with car I was buying, I have small company ...very pis#ed off,

Claiming that loss against taxes I believe would be tax fraud. To be sure contact a tax advisor. I would also contact law enforcement about the scam and see if they can offer you any relief (like catching the perpetrators as you may be able to sue and collect from them)
No. You cannot claim that you were stupid.
the scam would have to be revealed and litigated in court to be able to write it off as a buisness loss
If it was a company car, maybe. If it was in your name, probably not.

I am not a lawyer or a tax accountant - you're best getting advice from someone who would actually know how to pull this off if it is possible.
The fact you have a small business, Did you write a personal check for that car? NO you can't. Personal Loss... Company check you might be able to say it is a loss. Losses can reduce profitability, Remember your balance sheet is everything Profit and loss statements are important to look good when you issue an initial stock offering. Sell your business or just go for a loan.
