Doing my own taxes, is it hard to add your gas bill for your car ? just get h&r block, it wont cost that much. The gas you purchase for your car is nondeductible, unless it is used for business. If it is used for business, you deduct either your actual expenses (which includes gasoline, repairs, insurance, license fees, etc.), or the standard mileage rate. However, you only deduct the expenses based on your business mileage, and mileage to commute to and from work does not count as business mileage. If you are self employed, the auto expenses are deducted on Schedule C. If you are an employee, the auto expenses are deducted on Form 2106 as an employee business expense, which carries to Schedule A as a miscellaneous itemized deduction. you cant put that on your taxes duhhhhhhhhhhh unless it's for work or somthing |
