My cars co2 emissions is less than 0.01% so why do i have to pay the highest road tax? How does that compare with other cars? And 0.01% of what? Besides, Road tax isn't REALLY about the environment - it's about maintaining the roads. ??? what state or country? The 0.01% is probably your CO (Carbon Monoxide) emissions, and is about right for a modern car. UK car taxation is based on CO2 emissions (which is related to fuel consumption) for newer cars (although it is based on engine capacity for older cars). CO emissions are limited by law, and tested at MOT, for all modern cars. If your CO2 emissions are really that low, you're either running on almost pure Hydrogen, or the engine isn't working properly. |
