Has anybody got a clear idea about the UK motor tax concerning 4 wd cars? |
I can not find out any info about this question the guy who lives opposite me has just traded his nissan 4 wd for a saburu 4 wd estate car has he dodged the new motor tax class or not ? Car tax at the moment is measured on the Co2 emmissions that the car release in the air. this is the governments way of clamping on non environmental friendly cars. You can find your Co2 emmissions from looking it up in your V5 vehicle registration or log book in other words and it will tell you there. From there you can find out which category you fall in and how much you need to pay. You can check the table at the following web site http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/motoring/own... you can find many more information relating to car tax and other things to do with other government departments on that site. Source(s): http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/motoring/own... I think for 4 wd the tax is gonna be 拢400. I think it depends what the engine size is. Not too sure but I have been told that 4x4's made prior to 2002 are exempt as they were never designed to be economical. You best off looking on the official site. Main Site http://www.dvla.gov.uk/ The Costs http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/motoring/own... All this additional tax and regulation is one of the reasons I had to make the sad decison to leave Britain and I do miss the place but not all the nonsense that goes with it. I don't know the answer to your question but I can reccomend a web site www.honestjohn.co.uk, written by the excellent motoring guru from the Daily Telegraph and he has all sorts of great info on there. It is 拢400 for an off road vecihle eg Lanr Rover Discovery, Range Rover but a four wheel drive car eg Audi Quattro is not affected. Another four wheel drive off road vehicle that is not affected is the Lexus 400 Hybrid. This is due to the fact that it is powered by Petrol and Electric Motor |
