How long does it take it when you do a cash advance or loan to appear in your credit report? |
I am closing tomorrow on my first home. People, not the realtor told me that you should not do any cash advance or purchases with your credit card. You should also not do any loans because the banks pulls your credit report right before the closing and they don't like to see any purchases or loans. I was told today that I might have to pay something at the table tomorrow at closing. Just in case I wanted to take out 1000 from one of my credit cards in case it was more than what I have. Do you think If I do a cash advance or signature loan 2 hours before the closing that it will show up in my credit report? I've heard that the credit report does an update monthly not daily or hourly. Please let me know what you know =) your fine, if you take a cash advance off one of your credit cards it wont report usally until the next billing period (30days) and most banks do not pull a new report before closing actually some banks will go off of credit reports that are 30,60,or even 90 days old, and depending on your credit card i would try to hold off on that cash advance i know i have killer intrest rates for cash advances, so just make sure you absolutly need the money , good luck and congrats on the new house immediately on the loan, not sure about the cash advance. personal borrowing against credit to pay closing costs is a big NO NO. You could get the whole deal shot down. You should have made sure you had all the cash you needed long before now. They will want to know where the cash came from if they didn't see it in your bank acct balance You will be fine. With the cash advance on your credit card. Your credit report changes daily and even two or three times daily. But if that 1K is not needed at closing for heavens sake pay it back next day!! You really can not affrod a house if this is necessary to get the house to charge it on a cc. it is not possible for a transaction to show up on your credit report in 2 hours. some creditors take up to 60-90 days to update although most update on a 30 day cycle so it all depends where your transaction falls in that cycle. Your mortgage loan rep should know by now how much money you need for closing, add about $500 to that and any difference will be refunded to you as soon as you are finished signing. Good Luck with the house!! I believe you will be fine. If a lender pulls a credit report today, right now, only the account information that will be updated will be thru the end of the last 30 day cycle or monthly will show up. Exception will be any inquires will show up right away. Please keep in mind that borrowers are not permitted to use unsecured advances for purposes of purchasing a home, so if an inquiry does show (which normally credit card advances do not cause an inquiry unless you are asking for an increase in credit limit) and the lender may ask you for a letter of explanation. They will be looking for you to say that there was no new debt. But if you say your taking a cash advance to close on the home, then that will hold things up. That is just food for thought. Hope it helps |
