Has anyone set up payment arrangements with Chase Credit Card? |
I owe about $8000. I can't afford the $299 minimum payment due to other credit cards I'm paying as well. I'm starting to fall behind on this card as the minimum is too high. Has anyone ever called Chase to work out payment arrangements? I can afford $180 a month & in the very beginning of January I'll get a bonus at my job for about $1100 I could send them. I've read where people call & get treated horribly by Chase. I don't want to have them yell at me or treat me badly. Does Chase work with people to make payment plans and not make them feel like dirt? My credit is not good with them but I want to fix it. Hi First dont be afraid to call. Thing to remember is that all they want to know is what you can pay now and when do you think you could resume making regular payments. I would suggest that you do not tell them about your bonus. You could always send in addtional money at any time, but you dont want to be commited to something that may change later. I work for a different credit card issuer in collections so I totally get where you are coming from! You could tell them that you have had a change in income and after living expenses you can only afford about 180 per month. Please make sure you also tell them that you are not sure when you could resume making regular payments...they may offer you a really low apr and no fees! Keep in mind that it will close your account so even after the arrangement is over it will still be closed, also it would report on your credit bureau but it will show you are making payments as agreed too. Hope this helps! http://creditcard.creditinspector.info... has excellent info related to dealing with credit cards. Check it out! Yes and you are right, they are sometimes more receptive to 3rd parties. Feel free to email me with questions. www.totaldebtsolutionsllc.com |
