Has anyone had to deal with Chase credit (visa) and noticed that they are bloodsuckers!? |
I had a visa credit card and never missed a payment and they took it upon themselved to run a routine credit check and noticed that I had excess debit...so they decided to raise my apr interest rate to 29.99%. That means you can never get ahead of the curve if you have 4-6k on a credit card. This same issue was brought up my congressional investigative cmmt... and all they can say (Chase and Citibank) is sorry, were working on it. I recently paid my credit card off (over $5700) and they had the nerve to say I owed $110.00 in finance charges on the payment I just made. I will never do business with CHASE and I suggest anyone who wants credit to go elsewhere. They are "blood suckers"! If you call Chase credit card customer service and state you would like to close your account because of your APR (you really don't need to give them a reason), you will be immediately transfered to the retention department who will then offer you various incentives to keeping your account active (including lowering your APR if necessary). Try this. Unfortunately, this is the way banks make their money and with credit cards especially, they take advantage of the consumer again and again. Source(s): I have worked in the banking/credit card industry for over 5 years. that's their business and if we don't use their service then we don't have to deal with them, do we? Its all in the contract when you sign up with them. I think your a bit upset, because I see this as them doing anything wrong, its common. Bank of America treated me the same way, but instead of increasing my APR they canceled my account! Mind you, I paid off my balance every month. I have a Chase Alumni card now. I have never had any problems with them, to the point where I recently signed up for another card.
