Should Mormons and Catholics pay higher taxes because they produce more children? |
I'm fortunate to live within a high-quality public school district. The trouble is it's overcrowded. Large families contribute to this overcrowding, and because large families don't always live in larger houses (because it's expensive to raise a lot of kids), sometimes they're paying the same amount in property taxes as small families. So large families take more from the public schools but pay about the same as everyone else. In aggregate, large families also take more from the national transportation system (bigger roads, airports, trains, etc.), more from the natural environment (because they consume more products and dispose of more waste) and more from the economy (because research shows kids in large families don't do as well or go as far in school and thus won't earn as much in the future). How do you feel about the fact that your small family is subsidizing the burden that large Mormon and Catholic families place on public resources? geez..its not closed minded..its a statistical fact..mormons and catholics DO tend to have more kids than the rest to answer the question....HELL YA!!! It beats cutting their tallywacker off... Yes, they should pay more taxes. On top of the fact that they have 29857839475 kids per couple, typically, the women don't work so they contribute nothing to society. Having and raising kids only helps society when they are raised properly to become productive members of the community. But with all those kids, the parents get tired of raising them and the younger ones turn into leeches on society. First of all that's pretty closed minded. I am not Catholic or Mormon. I'm Pagan and my husband is Athiest. I'm a stay at home mom. We have three kids in a three bedroom house. Why? Because somehow we got twins out of the deal. People are having larger families again. It doesn't always have to do with religion. My sister in law has FOUR kids. She's agnostic and her husband is athiest. The difference between a three bedroom house and four bedroom house is about 20 grand. So unless you have 20 grand laying around, I'm staying in my three bedroom house. No birth control is 100% and married couples aren't going to stop having sex. Lots of people have "oops" babies. Once again, nothing to do with religion. I would also like to see the study that says kids from large families don't go onto higher education. My grandmother is one of nine and they all did just fine. My mother is one of four and holds three degrees. I know someone who is one of 7 seven and has a degree. That has to do with the person. so where is your data-driven basis that mormon and catholic families are indeed larger in size than everyone else's? Quite the opposite. All those children will eventually be taxpayers. It is those who have no children or just 1 or 2 that will definitely be raiding the public coffers far longer than larger families might. I don't think your school is of a terribly high quality. You spend a lot of money on a large family. Almost every cent you spend is taxed, thus you pay more tax. |
