On a federal tax return which cannot be included as a qualifiying child? |
A non-resident alien A DAUGHTER WHO IS AWAY AT COLLEGE A COUSIN A GRANDDAUGHTER WHO IS 28 AND DISABLED ANY child (under 18, or under 21 and still in school) who was living with you for over 6 months out of the year is a qualifying child. It does not have to be your child, but you do have to have the social security number or it an alien, you have to have whatever number or some kind of identification. That is, if a non resident alien has lived in your home for more than 6 months out of the year.A daughter (under 21) who is away at college is a qualifying child if you are providing at least half of her living expenses. a non resident alien. did u provide 50 percent care?.....if yes you are able to claim as dependent, qualifying child is another term that is different and would only be used for perhaps the cousin depending on age and circumstance. None but the daughter qualify as a child, but all except the NRA could potentially be claimed as dependents (if they are, in fact, dependent on you). a non-resident alien Non-resident alien and cousin A non resident alien |
