Depending on which state you live in, you may need to visit a Social Security office in person with proof of birth from your hospital in order to obtain the SSN in a timely manner. Leaving it up to the hospital generally takes at least 90 days, and usually longer. yes, I bet you applied for one at the hosp and just forgot, it is pretty standard to do that now. |
