If I claim my child on my taxes and she worked as well last year can she still file?

If I claim my child on my taxes and she worked as well last year can she still file?

If your child earned enough she probably has to file. Her status as your dependent doesn't effect her responsibility to file.

For more information on the specific filing reqirements for those that are claimed as a dependent look at IRS pub. 929 & 501 Source(s): Pub. 929

Pub. 501

She can (and must) file, she just can't claim herself.
