Will I be able to claim my unborn child when I file my taxes?

I am currently 6 1/2 months along. My due date is late Feb. Now I think I wont be able to but I'm not sure.

No...the law is pretty clear...the child can only be claimed for any given tax year if it is born on or prior to December 31. You MAY however be able to deduct medical bills or costs resulting from the pregnancy...

You have to provide a social security number, which will not be issued until the baby is born.

Double-check with a tax accountant or CPA in your area.

Congrats on the pregnancy and good luck with the new one!
Not this year but next year.
No. Any tax advisor will back me up...the child must be born before 12:00 am on 1/1/07.

No you won't beable to claim you unborn child. the child has to be born in dec. to be able to claim. I had my daughter dec. 4 and they said since she was here before i filed i could but if i would of had her in Jan or after then I would have to wait until next year.
Not for 2006, but for 2007.
