Lawmakers are pushing for a $1 cigarette tax increase to pay for children's health care? |
Did you see this news article? I'm not for smoking, but this is not right, when money is needed for something, just single out someone you don't like and tax them. the reason there isn't enough money for poor childrens health care, is because the doctors over charge, if they would charge a fair price, the states wouldn't run out of money. They need to look to the problem, not to taxing people more and more. What do you think? i think a transaction tax of 1 cent in the dollar levied from bank withdrawels could feed all the children of the world 2 cents heal and feed therm but what do i know? Is'nt this is what the tea party was about. Taxation without representation? Who represents the big tabacco? What is going to happen when everyone quits? Hit us at the pumps? I think it is discrimination. But If you buy a pack in Texas, You pay the 1 tax. And to beat itall, The Manufactures went up a dollar on prices to the Indian Reservations. (Which is tax free) So who is getting that money? Just like the benefits from the Texas Lottery were supposed to go to the schools. As far as I figure out, the schools get about 1% of the proceeds. Evidently the salarys eat up the profits. a load of crap. politicians are getting way out of hand with their demands. it's all about money, man. they are the true whores. I don't smoke, but taxing those that do is not right at all, if it is so bad then stop the maufacturing of...There should be a 4% tax on everyones income, from the lowest to the highest, that encludes billionaire's, and no deductable, that would pay for everyone to have health care..but it is only a dream...cause greed and b.s. rules... good idea. I agree with you. And I would like to mention something I've begun not noticing lately. I've not noticed any additional taxes on alcohol. Or alcohol-free bars and restaurants. There's no gov't-funded research on the problems associated with alcohol use. Where's the surgeon general of the US on this issue? I've not noticed warning lables on liquor bottles. And I've not noticed any public health warnings about liquor. Hmmmm. Do you think maybe they haven't noticed anything wrong? |
