Can i deduct the amount of child support i pay on my federal taxes? we are divorced. i don't claim kids. NO, the only thing you can deduct is if you paid alimony. Depends on the state you live in. Here in SC my husband cannot claim his son or deduct any child support on his taxes. No, I don't believe you can. It would make sense for you to be able to deduct it which is probably why you can't - the whole child support system is f*cked up! They should just do away with it completely, because people paying it are getting screwed and people recieving it are abusing it. Child support is a big load of Sh*t! I'm a single mother with full custody, who doesn't receive child support and knows too many people getting screwed by the system.(and too many lazy b*tches abusing it!) |
