Are dependent children employed outside the home required to file income tax? |
My 16 year old just got his first job. We live in Arkansas, and we are unsure (approaching middle-age, and forgot if I filed or not) if he needs to file income tax. Yes, all income is taxable. It doesn't matter who is paying the living expenses of the taxpayer. yes if you earn you pay...get used to it. Yes, he still has to file.At least in Indy, I'm sure it's the same everywhere, the government wants as much money as they can get. Yep, He's got a social security number and a job. He's got to file. Sure does, it's a shame but he does have to Yes, but there is a place on the income tax form that asks if you can be claimed as someone else's dependent. As a parent you can still claim your son and get the full deduction. Yes, but he will probably get it ll back! |
