The Catholic Church hid the molestation of children. Does this serve the good of the people - tax exempt still Sean, even though I didn't have a choice as a child I'm embarrassed to admit that I was raised Catholic. It's been nothing but scandal after scandal for them and yet they still see their actions as pious and justified, and themselves as divine. It makes me ill. Any not-for-profit has to be able to quantify expenditures and show what exactly they do to just about anyone at any time. When mistakes are made by them, they are held accountable and subject to any corrective action or penalty given. It seems highly unlikely, considering what has been brought to light, that churches are under the same scrutiny. The tax-exempt status would be the least of their concerns. evidence? or your imagination? HAHAHA! Tax status should be the least of their worries.....they had better worry about the day when they are face to face with the One who will judge them...... great question! that makes me think about how much else they are hiding from us! It's like bad politics my friend! it just gets worse and more corrupt as it goes on! and still tax exempt , I am sure! I'm certainly not going to advocate child molestation, or the protection of those that molest, but separation of church and state is a two way street. You are proposing a no-win argument for both sides. Molestation is a terrible betrayal. But rates of molestation in the RCC are no higher than in other organizations. I wanna know why they didn't arrest the Bishops that hid the molesters? If I committed murder and you hid me... they would arrest you right along with me. Just another case of Mainstream getting "Special Rights" while whining cause other people want the same thing. They should remove all tax exemptions from Religions (yes, I include my own in this...). I consider Tax Ex to be a Special Right and I don't see how it serves the "greater good of the people" that the one place that claims to help others isn't paying taxes which goes towards welfare, schools, etc.... I'm so tired of the hypocritical bullshit *sigh* |
