You are responsible for including this in your income as the person making the child support payments. The person receiving the payments does not claim this as income. If you are paying alimony, those payments are deductible for you and the person receiving the alimony must claim it as income and pay taxes on it. Child Support is not deductible on Federal taxes. We don't have state taxes in Texas so I can't help you there. Alimony is deductible on Federal taxes to the payer, and is income to the recepient. |
