I can't get citibank to cancel my credit card and fees keep coming in a 31% how can I get them to cancel? Completely pay off the card or transfer the balance to another card at a lower rate. Then write a letter to Citibank informing them you are canceling your card effective immediately. When you mail the letter certify it so you have proof it was delivered. If they still keep coming after that call your State's Attorney General's office and ask for help. If you're getting fees you must have a balance on your credit card. Pay off the balance or transfer it to a new card, and then cancel the credit card. They have to cancel -- by law -- . Just threatin to bring your lawyer to the table if they don't cancel your card. You can close your credit card and still pay on it. I can't believe you have such a high rate. What you should do is call the Consumer Credit Counselor's Agency in your phone book...they have one in every state or community. They should be able to help you free of charge to get some satisfaction regarding negotiating that interest rate, so you can pay it off. I'm sorry you got caught in such a jam but I'm a firm believer that to every problem their is a solution. That's the law of nature. Previous experiences Modified 1 year ago |
