What is the average amount you have to pay for college loans?

My total bucked the trend since I worked throughout college and paid for most of it myself. I ended up obtaining a total of loans of about $4,000 even. Should I have gotten everything in loans no doubt it would've been up to the $20,000+ range.
Depending on the school you go to the average for a four/five year college student loan is about $25,000-$35,000
