I'm about to start college, and i have no vehicle, is there a student loan that i can use to purchase a car? |
I have horrible credit, and cannot finace a car.I know i shouldn't use one to get a car, but i have no other options, i live to far away to walk, and i have no help from friends or family, and there is no bus that runs where i live.. So any advice that would be helpful is much appreciated!!! Thanks Don't do it. That is not what they give you money for! Get a part time job. How will you pay for food and a roof over your head? What about gas? I understand you need a car. Also, where do you live where there is no public transportation and why did you choose to go to school so far away? You must live with your family because why would you not live in a dorm if you were paying for rent so far from school? Have your tried to finance a car? A car loan is easier to get because you are driving the collateral. I'm not tring to be mean, I am just trying to prevent what I am going through happening to someone else, even though you are a stranger. I used my student loan money and bought a new computer- I needed one just like you need a car. I now live on noodles and I've been very, very sick . I can't go to the Doctor because I can not afford the Co-Pay. Source(s): Graduate Student If you got a school loan, they will sometimes pay you back the difference between what the loan covers and what you actually owe the school. For example, if your loan is for $5000, but your cost is $3000, you will get that money back. Of course you will have to pay all $5000 to the loan company, but it will help you out now. If you can't get a car, you might consider the healthy alternative: a good bicycle. You can get an inexpensive bike at Wall Mart (granted, Huffy's aren't the most durable, but they're cheap) or try a thrift store for a used bike.
