College, financial aid, student loans, oh my...?

I am 23 and have been out of college for a couple years, having a child and getting married and all, but I recently decided I would really prefer not to be a server for the rest of my life, so I am going back to school this fall come hell or high water but I have a couple questions, when I was in school before I had scholarships that covered everything so financial aid wasnt really a concern but now it definitely is, I filed a fafsa online and got my SAR, it says my EFC is 2608, anyone know what this means? My husband and I make an ok living so I doubt I will qualify for much but I also know I can not afford to pay for everything myself, so heres my other question, will I be able to get a student loan if I have bad credit? I am going in to talk to a counselor at the college sometime this week but I want to go in with some idea of what to expect so any thoughts and comments are welcomed, thanks in advance!

My first semester back to school, I was in about the same situation as you. I recieved a menial pell grant from fafsa, but they automatically put the rest of my tuition as a student loan since I checked off that I was interested on the app. However, I had no extra money for books. They don't check credit scores for a student loan, because i surely wouldn't have gotten one, LOL. I don't know how much they limit it to. That was for a community college,
I don't know much about student loans because I've never had to take one, but I suspect you would be able to get a loan fairly easily. Your EFC is the amount of money your family is expected to contribute to your education in the year you applied for. I don't know how much that would affect your financial aid, but I suspect it is the amount they will subtract from what they would give you otherwise. Otherwise, it would not be an expected contribution. My EFC was always $0, so I never had to wonder much about what it means. Your loans should not be greatly affected by your EFC, since you'll be paying those back anyway if you get them. Good luck!
Go to: http://www.studentfinancialadvisors.com... They can consolidate your student loans for you.
If you have a poor credit score, it is difficult to get a loan from most banks and financial institutions. Credit is usually available only at a very high interest rate.Only few companies provide loan with poor credit score.Check out link for details.
