Who else loathes countrywide home loan commercials? |
I cringe when they come on the TV I haven't seen their commercials, but if you look on the page www.ripoffreport.com you will see a helluva lot of unsatisfied customers for that company. They are corny, but not as bad as Kaiser Permanente. Geico commercials have gotten really bad lately. Did you see the one with that midget from the Austin Powers movies? It was embarassing. And the one with Little Richard. They suck! Gosh! They have recently gotten into trouble for discriminating against Blacks and Hispanics by charging them high interest rates that Whites. Mortgage companies are a scam. I found that out by working for a couple of them, not knowing the "inner workings" until the last one I worked for. They are unregulated, unlike banks and can sell any interest rate that the consumer will consent to (to a limit, of about 17%)! That's why the newspapers are full of foreclosures. Take for example, if you "sold" a 6% interest mortgage to a couple, you could receive a commission check of about $5,000....but if you "sold" that same couple a 9% interest, telling them that's all they qualified for, you could receive a commission up to and beyond $10,000. This is from the investors. Plus they get the Origination fees, document fees in their pocket. What a scam! I just hate all mortgage commercials because I know how they hurt people. |
