Will University Rejects My Application Because I Have Too Many Credit Hours? |
I just transferred from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC, Canada to Washington State University in Pullman, WA. However the tuition here are ridiculous ($830 per credit unit) and my EFC (estimated family contribution) does not qualify me for any grants, I probably will get very little federal loan as well. As a California resident I am thinking about transferring back to a CalState university for Fall 2008. Their transfer requirements are 60 semester units or 90 quarter units, so far I have 77 semester units, after this semester in WSU I will have 87, if I continute to take class during spring semester (WSU operates on a trimester schedule) I will probably have 92. With 92 credits will the university in California reject my application simply I have too many credits? You should try to get in touch with the school you want to transfer to because I have heard that most schools only allow transfers at 30-60 credits. Talk to them and see what they allow because it varies from school to school so they may let you transfer or they may not. Your transfer credit requirement is not a stipulation for getting into college. It is about how many credits they will accept towards a university degree in you subject area. You will be just fine. No, but they may not accept all your credits. A university can only accept so many credits, because you need so many credits to be taken at their school in order to graduate with their name. It depends on the university. I know at my school I have to get classes above the 100. My 2 english classes dont count. I was in 2 english classes dont count. And they are english 92 and 97. I was told to get above 100 for universities to start preparing me for admission. Good Luck 2nd year at Community College It's essential that you contact the school you want to transfer to. You should be in good hands though. I go to a CalState school and I know students who transferred after attending a CC for 4 years (from changing majors left and right) and had over 100 units. UC schools are stricter. |
