Anyone know of a good reputable non-profit credit counseling company/service?

There are several reputable CC services, Genesis is one , but most city or county Govt agencies recomend a agency called consumer credit counseling services. Haveing checked on some of these agencies in the past few month, the Consumer Credit Counseling got my payment alot lower than some of the other ones so its best to try to check on a few to see what each may or may not offer you. Consumer Credit Counseling is a non profit agency that will set up and plan a budget for you and get most credit cards and loaners to either reduce your interest rate or take the interest off completley

Sure, but if you sign up with one and don't complete the program, you will find a negative hit on your credit report & score.

You can accomplish most of what they can do and it won't cost you anything but time (& stamps). Don't enlist a third party to make your payments for you.
