Should my sister be a guarantor for a guy she just met for his line of credit application?

my sister met a guy on lavalife a month or so ago. they met a couple of times in person but he only wants to be friends. anyway, he recently wanted her to be a guarantor for his application for a line of credit. he has no family around, they live overseas. he says he has no one he can trust, but trusts her. she is only a supply teacher and has limited income and no real assets. he went bankrupt in the past and says that he needs to re-establish his credit but can't without help. and now he's giving up as no one can help him. he is giving a very sad story to her. he says he would only have it for an emergency and not even use it. he would also send her monthly statements. should she do this for him?? is this even something to ask of a friend??

hell no
No.....a man should be the provider, it's a bad way to start a relationship......may God bless you
no she needs to steer clear of him, the fact that he went bankrupt should tell her something. one should never sign for another unless they have the money to cover it, a good possibility she will be left with bad credit. if he went bankrupt that means he defaulted on other bills he had, he is using her, for all he can get off her. she is naive and needs to know she may have to pay if she guarantees the loan for someone she hardly knows.
she shouldn't even go guarantor for any family members let alone a complete stranger. As stated in above comments, she should stay right away from him.
No way! Tell her to stay clear of this guy. He's just using his supposed sob story to trap her into it. It's a bad idea that she'll end up regretting, or in court for.

In any case, I don't know what religion your sister is, but if she's Christian, remind her that the Bible specifically prohibits being a guarantor for ANYONE (even close family members)! She can use her religion as her excuse for not getting into this trap. (It's worked for me a number of times).
NO! she does not know him,you cant really know someone by chatting on line or by seeing them twice, the fact that he has a past bankruptcy he is willing to tell her about along with the story of no family to help puts up red flags, these are not things you can check. It does not really matter anyway you should never put your credit on the line for anyone! His credit is shot he messed it up and that says he had trouble paying his bills and by putting your sisters name as guarantor means he can walk away and she would have to pay. It is a common scam so be careful.
Hell NO.....
