How do you recieve the cheapest fare on line without actually giving up your credit Number first? |
iam looking for international flights next year and do not understand how they say "i found a cheap fare on line" without giving up my credit # first... Expedia claims to guarantee the best rate. You can search their fares OR some airlines' websites, such as Southwest, say they have the best rates listed on their site. do the legwork - check all of the websites yourself. Most websites will give you a price without a credit card number. bookingbuddy.com This web site lets you search many different compnaies at one time. First use sites like Travelocity and Expedia. Find what you're looking for and use these sites to compare what's out there. After that go directly to the airline's site and you'll probably find the airfare to be about $25.00 less (I think that's the fee that the search sites collect from the airline) than what the travel site was offering. I've had luck with Delta.com and jetblue.com. Sometimes when you go directly to the airline's site, you will find other flights not advertised in the travel sites. I will never understand why so many consumers feel online is always lower in price. Sometimes it is yes, but really as an agent we work with air consolidators for international and domestic tickets and these are companies that don't work with the general public. Compare some of your tickets/vacations and some of you might start seeing that many online sites are raising prices knowing there are so many consumers that don't even compare with agents anymore. Other sites yes, but give agents a chance. We were undercut for so long that is why these online sites can raise prices on various tickets/hotels and many consumers are none the wiser. Try your local travel agent. You need to have advance booking for these as they need to be booked in a certain class of service. If you are looking at next year you should be fine, but look with an agent right away to get the best prices. Plus you have a go-to person instead of an 800 # waiting for the next available res. agent if you have problems or questions. Some of the answers that are given on here are fine, however I see many posters given quite wrong info. Yahoo Answers isn't a substitute for a travel agent. You can't count on getting accurate info. Plus we don't ask or need a credit car to search these consolidators for you prior. Only when you are ready to book, but of course prices are subject to change until booked.
