Do those credit repair agencies really work?

Some do. However, you can do all of it yourself without paying the big fees they charge. It's mainly a matter of getting your credit reports, getting rid of the incorrect data and getting some good items to offset the bad ones.

The main "advantage" of credit repair agencies is they will help negotiate with your creditors and get lower interest rates or a payment plan to pay off your debt.

You are expect to turn over a huge amount of your income, and the repair agency pays your debts.

Many times if you try to do this yourself (ask for lower interest rates) you get the cold shoulder.

The problem is there are a lot of scams out there, and dishonest agencies.
