Do you think that companies that offer credit repair are reputable? |
Do you think that companies that offer credit repair are reputable? No because all they do is write to the credit bureaus and challenge every derogatory thing on your credit. This means that the credit bureaus have 30-days to prove that these items are correct or they have to remove them. What happens is a lot of lenders take over 30-days to respond so in the short run these items are removed and your score goes up. But when they do get around to proving that these items are correct, they go right back on your credit bureau. This is something you can do yourself, if there are items on your credit that are wrong? You can contact the credit bureaus and challenge them. But be aware you must have a good reason to challenge them. Source(s): Special Finance Manager for over 7-years. NOPE! You never want any company to "clean" your credit report. They will remove everything from your report, good and bad. You are left with a "0" credit score. Just like if you had never had any credit at all. If they are doing credit counseling, working with lenders to reduce and payoff bad debts, that might be ok. Make sure you are working with a non profit group. why would thay care about you the only person that can fix your credit is you and time One of my friends used one of those companies. They screwed her over pretty badly. If you have the time, you can do all of this yourself. |
