Has anyone had a good experience with these credit repair companies? |
i mean wats the deal? can they really clear my file and if so can anyone recommend a good one? basically do they really work and how do you tell a legitimate one apart from all the scams out there.. I used to work for one and they can help quite a bit. They are able to work with your creditors to help consolidate your bills into a low monthly payment. They show you based on your income how much you can spend each month and the remaining money they invest for you. Once the invested amount reaches a higher plateau they are able to eliminate a large chunk if not all of your outstanding debt. I ordered a "free credit report" from Experian, then found a collection account on it. I knew it wasn't mine, so I used their dispute tool found within their website, which was included in their "free credit report" and it was removed from my credit report in 30 days. The downside is that the "free credit report" turns into a monthly fee after 30 days, and sure enough, it took just over 30 days for the collection to be removed. I wouldn't say I would use a service like that again unless I knew there was a MISTAKE on my credit report. These services can't erase lates and collections that are your fault. They can simply erase errors, which was the case with me. In the last few years, I've come to rely on my own skills to raise my credit score. Check out some of my info, it'll help.
