What is the best direction to turn to for repairing my credit? Lets start with this, have you paid off all your debts? If not you should sit down adn write them all down and prioritize. Then you set up a budget and allocate as much as you possibly can to pay down your debt that is if you have debt. Cut down all the non essentials and reduce whatever you can (do you really watch those 1000 chanels on TV). When you pay off your CC pay minimum on all except one. You will snowball that one, putting as much as possible towards that one. First CC you pick is the one with the highest % APR on it. And then you work your way down. And this is how you work out your debt. (btw this works with any debt) if you don't have debt then get a secured credit card from capital one or orchard bank and then use it and pay it off on time. Secured credit card is different from regular in a sense you will have to make a deposit ($200 for $200 limit) but you will need to do it to establish your credit. Keep it current and eventually Capital One will issue a refund for $200 and you now have unsecured CC :). Keep using it and paying it off and you will be in great shape to apply for newer CCs with bigger limits :). Just keep in mind don't go over limit and try to be 50% and below your credit line as both of those tend to hurt your FICo. Also don't apply for 20 cc in one month. 3/year is enough. Rival Get a secured credit card. Most banks offer them. Use it and pay on time for a year. Then they will give you a real one. Modified 1 year ago Cut up your credit cards..Pay all of your bills on-time. Do this and within 6 months you will see an improvement in your credit..But, some things stay for years on your credit report depending on what state you live in. http://www.equifax.com/ better turn to north and move towards south...north would help u WATCH the damage to be repaired and south would help to ACT on repairing it. get a credit cared that can establish your credit history |
