How can i repair my own credit file? if there is any non-prfit organizers doing this ? I do help people begin to "repair" their credit, by carefully going through the reports. The first thing we do is try to get rid of all erroneous information, such as balances wrong, payments wrong, double accounts etc. After doing that, we sit down with a program that I have that determines the fastest way to raise your credit score with a sum of money such as $500. Definitely call the non profits around you and find out if they do this. I work for one. If by "repair" you mean raise your credit rating, you'll just have to pay off outstanding debts, avoid late payments, get rid of most of your credit cards. If you mean that there are errors on your credit report, you can contact the individual credit reporting agencies; they have to (a) correct any errors and (b) give you a free credit report afterward to confirm the corrections have been made. You can review your credit first at www.annualcreditreport.com Once reviewing your report, can help in that decision if you can help boost your credit score or not. After you review your report. -Copy and carefully review ALL the information looking for errors. -Dispute any duplicate information (That will be your start) Start paying all the lower amounts of debt to clear them first. Keeping receipts and information (just incase) Thats a great start and enough to get you going. As far as non-profit organizations there is the Consumer Credit Services they are great and have a great record as far as customer trustworthiness. Also contact your local BBB to investigate yourself the worthiness of any credit assistance organization that you inquire with. Good Luck. There are a couple of options you have. 1. Like stated before, you can repair your own credit yourself. You can request your credit report from freecreditreport.com, and click on the link in the blue box to your left www.annualcreditreport.com. This will give you the chance to view and print your credit report from all 3 credit bureaus. You can do this up to once every year. Once you have done that, and when financially ready you can contact the creditors and make arrangements to repay your debt. You dont have to pay it all!! You simply state that you are prepared to pay today, but do not have the full amount. (try to offer half the amount if possible) They will tell you that they need the full amount, but stand your ground. Trust me ... they want this paid off as much as you do, and will refer you to someone in their department that can take your payment. One that is done.. MAKE SURE you request a letter for you and that they report that the account is paid in full to all the 3 agencies. Your second option is to just simply look in your local phone book for non-profit organizations, and call around. Simply ask for some credit repair solutions, and I am sure they would be glad to help you or point you in the right direction. It's not as hard as many people believe, but I do award you for trying. Good credit is the key to opening alot of doors in life. www.freecreditreport.com www.annualcreditreport.com good day, my aunt got her second credit repair assistance from this counselling org http://www.ezcreditrepairsolutions.com... hope this might help you out too! have a super day! As some have stated before, you can review your credit and dispute items that are incorrect all for free. The agencies that you would pay to help "repair" your credit will only do what you can do yourself for free. |
