How can I repair my terrible credit?(beacon score 525)? the national average is 625 so with about 6 months or so of paying credit cards on time you will be closer to that. Don't apply for credit anywhere and try to pay more than the minimum on your credit cards. Start with a credit card for high-risk people, from somewhere like Capitol One, Household Bank, or Providian. Pay the hugh fees and interest (because you are essentially buying your credit)and pay these people on time ALWAYS!! Over time, they will increase your credit limits, but make sure to PAY the bill each month-even better-pay it in FULL each month, rather than carrying a balance. It's not easy, but it is do-able!
