How long after cleaning up your credit report will it show up on your credit report as repaired?

I believe it takes 30 days to show up as closed on your credit report, but it takes 7 years to completely get off your report.

In Canada it takes 7 years for adverse credit to be erased from your credit report. However, you can help it along by getting a credit card and paying it off completely every month. If you can't get a credit card, go to a department store and get a card from there.
You just have to make sure to always pay it off completely every month.

Depending on where it is on your actual credit report, If it is a collection, charge off something of that sort it will report as a negative mark for 7 years even though you have paid it in full. If it is a good account no late payments and in good standing it will actually count as a good point on your credit report.

As other people mentioned before, major derogs like BKs will stay on your credit report for seven to ten years from the date of discharge, depending on the type of BK.

Chargeoffs and collections will usually stay on your credit report for seven years plus 180 days from the date of delinquency.
