How do i take something off of my credit report?

Make a formal dispute with the credit reporting agency, either by email or written. Please keep a copy for your records. I actually had to do this and it takes 30 days to be resolved. If you can do it through the actual company that placed the item on your report it will go quicker. All the reporting agencies will have sample dispute letters on their sites. You don't, you ask whoever put it on to take it off or you file a dispute with the credit bureau.

Do all of this in writing and keep copies.
You will have to dispute the information that is on the report. Whether or not it will be removed will be up to the company providing the credit report.
you can file a protest or contact the company that posted the report.
