Cleaning Credit Report? |
I am trying to clean up my credit, out of numerous creditors I only have three left. But the ones that are paid either in full or settlement I can not get them to get this off my credit report. Any suggestions? I am looking at buying my first house in 12-18 months therefore time is of the essence. Thank you for any great answers. A credit bureau will not remove accurate negative information from your credit report before the legal time period has expired. Therefore, do not believe anyone who claims they can get negative information removed from your credit report faster than is legally required. There are no "loopholes" or laws that credit repair companies can use to get correct information off your credit report. Helpful steps to cleaning up credit: First, make sure all the information on your credit report is accurate. Second, try to pay off all or any accounts that are currently in collections or make payment arrangements with the creditor to pay off the balance monthly. Third, any credit card that is over 50% of the available credit line should be paid down to under half of your total credit line. Your credit score is lowered when your available balance is over 50% of your total credit line. Finally, if you have bad or no credit and have no credit cards try to obtain two credit cards and make sure all of your monthly payments are made on time. This will help increase your credit score. If you cannot be approved for a unsecured credit card, obtain a secured credit card. Repairing your credit and improving your credit score is a slow process that takes time. Source(s): http://www.consumerbadcreditguide.com/re... piggy back..... thats what works find some people you know with 1 2 or 3 credit cards with perfect payment history have them authorize you as a user it will bump you up and you dont have to do anything.there are places on the net you can actually pay strangers to add you but its risky it would be better to have a friend or relative help you with this. you have to give the person your social security # and birth date all that good stuff. Good luck to you and congrats on your new home :) Information will be reported on your credit report generally for 7 years. However the more recent information has more effect on your credit score. You might need more than a year and a half for your credit score to recover. One thing you should watch is to make sure that the date was not reset when you paid off the bad debt. It should stop aging once it is delinquent. One exception is that a judgment can be renewed. |
