Can i get a full credit report from my bank? |
Hello and thank you to any who can assist me here. I was recently rejected for a loan i needed because of my credit report. Where can i get a full copy of my credit report so i can see exactly what i owe? Assuming you are in the US, federal law requires the bank to provide written disclosure stating the reasons credit was denied to you, or provide you the reasons if you request them within 60 days of the denial. If you are denied credit based on information contained in your credit report, federal law also allows you to obtain a free copy of your credit report from the agency from which the bank obtained the information to use in its credit decision. Your bank cannot give you a copy of your credit report, because it is not within their custody or control. There are three credit reporting agencies: Transunion, Equifax and Experian. They are easily located on the internet, and its equally easy to request your credit reports from them via the internet. I've also attached a link from the Federal Trade Commission web site that discusses your rights as a consumer when it comes to credit. Source(s): http://www.truecredit.com/help/learncent... You don't get it from your bank...you get it from the credit reporting agencies. You can go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com... and get your report from all 3 credit bureaus for free once a year. Your bank is also required to provide you with a letter stating why they denied you and how to get a free credit report from the bureau that provided them with the info that led to your not getting the loan. ........................ to find out the score and report you should check out this thread http://cellphonesmarket.com/viewtopic.ph... what is important to you for your loan is the SCORE . |
