When i get my personal credit report does that count as a inquiry on the report? No, it is considerd a "soft pull" so it does not affect your credit. You can pull your credit report once per year for free (no credit card required) at www.annualcreditreport.com It does count as an inquiry but it does not affect your FICO score, the only inquiries that affect your FICO score are when you apply for things (loans, credit cards, etc) ....businesses have a right to check your credit with a permissable purpose due to the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It is a good idea to check your credit frequently...remember you get 3 free credit reports per year....one from each credit reporting agency ( Experian, Trans Union, and Equi Fax). You might also want to think about credit protection, this way you will be informed of any changes to your credit immidiately. no you get to look at your report once a year, if more than this it will show up, but looking once a year is a freebie |
