I have a lot of old accounts showing on my credit report (the big 3) car loans paid 10 yr old, cc i cancelled?

If the accounts are over 8-10 years should I delete them from my reports. I'm trying to buy my first house.

If these accounts are in good standing and you have a balance of 0 there is really no reason to cancel them. Actually if you cancel a credit card account with a 0 balance your score might go down some because all of a sudden your amount of available credit will go down which is one of the factors used to calculate your credit score.
pends on if they were settled in collections or customer closed whatever. The lenders look at it and you have had decent credit lately 8-10 years out is not an issue.
You want to leave anything that was paid in good standing as long as they can. It shows that you had good trade lines from years ago.
i'm not sure, but i think this site has the answer to this particular question. they've got lots of stuff about this anyway.
