What can be or should be done about Unauthorized hard inquiries on credit report.? |
Yesterday I went to a new car dealer. I brought my credit report with me so i could keep the inquires down. I never filled out a credit app. nor did I ecer give them my premission. infact told them atleast 5 times not to run it .I checked my report this morning and noticed an alert from their Unauthorized hard inquirie Robert....when you specifically go to a creditor and specifically tell them they do NOT have permission to access your credit report...and they do it anyway...... Well, if it happens to me I will be $1000 richer. You did everything right...you did your homework and you know that when you shop for a loan every single lender is going to want to pull your score. And every inquiry you get lowers your score! I'm curious how they got your information to be able to pull your report though.....you didn't fill out an application? Go to the dealer and show them a copy of your credit report, with their UNAUTHORIZED inquiry. Tell them to remove it within 30 days, or get a lawsuit. you had to give them some information so they could run it. like Social security number, date of birth, junk like that. and as far as i've found you can't do anything about getting them taken off. but most credit checks only stick with you for one to two years and not seven to ten like bad credit. just be cautious of who you give your info to. one inquiry does not affect you credit score...it's when you have multiple that throw up the red flag!... drop it... do you honestly believe you could go into a new car dealership and buy a car without them doing a credit check ...get real! You people crack me up. Stop worshiping at the alter of the Almighty FICO score (I Love Debt Score). Save your money and buy a car you can afford. |
