How can I get closed accounts removed from my credit report?

You can't, unless they are over 7 years old. Unless they are derogatory, they are likely helping your credit score anyway.

My car loan from 12 years ago is still on my credit report. I don't know why, but it's good credit, so I haven't asked them to remove it.
They stay on there forever -- but they show up as closed so it doesn't affect your credit score in any negative way. It just shows that you had a history with that particular company.
If the accounts are derogatory, they will remain on your credit for 7-years form the date of first delinquency.

If they are good accounts, why would you want them removed, they are helping you.

Accounts stay on your report for 7-10 years. You cannot remove them until they fall off at the appropriate time. If it's a positive account, leave it there because it's helpful to your credit score. If it's a bad account, you'll just have to deal with it until it's time for it to come off the report.
Items on you credit history are weighted. Recent history counts for more. Don't worry about it.
