Is it possible for 1 collection agency to report 1 account to the credit bureau 2 times.?


I have Midland Credit Management on my credit report two seperate times for the same debt. The account numbers are the same, the total is the same, everything on the two hits are identical. Is this legal? If not, what should I do to delete this.

It is illegal. I don't understand how the credit bureau even let this slip by. Many times what you see are two differant creditors listing the same debt, but rarely do you see the same one doing it.

It's simple to fix...send a dispute to the credit bureau and demand that the duplicate listings be removed.
Dunno. But I suppose so.

Two debts of mine show up twice each on my credit report.
