Where can i get a freecredit report without giving them a credit card number? |
every site i go to says free, but then when you fill in the blanks the next step ask for a credit card number. Under the law you are entitled to a free credit report from each of the three credit bureaus: Experian, Equifax and Transunion once a year. I prefer to request the reports in writing as opposed to online. They need your name(s), current address, previous address, SS Number, Date of Birth and Mother's Maiden Name in order to process your request. When the reports arrive you can challenge outdated or inaccurate information. I would suggest doing it in writing so you have a copy of your request(s).
