Attorney/paralegal question, if I paid my attorney 2 settle my credit accounts Y didn't he fix my cr. report |
I'm going around in circles but determined to get this fixed and done. I had huge huge health issues which financially messed up my credit. I was going to do bankruptcy and went to a lawyer and he said we should settle and pay him to do it. My family members helped and we decided this sounded best. All was settled and I think the attorney wrangled quite well for us, but now, 3 years later and I'm healthy enough to check things out, my credit report is a mess. Why didn't the attorney tell me to make sure things were updated and help me understand it all. Seems like if I went bankrupt it would all have been cleared in 7 years ?? Any suggestions for quick and efficient long credit report repair ? I need advice. And of course no money after being so ill for so long. If they are reporting inaccurately, you have the legal right to dispute the inaccuracies and demand deletion if they are not corrected. Check some of the links in my profile. Read the FCRA and learn "how" they should be reporting. There are many free do it yourself credit repair sites on the web. (I happen to prefer the free one listed in my profile) Never use a credit repair site that requires payment. Good luck and I'm glad that you are well on the road to recovery. of course you credit report will be a mess and it will be a mess for 7 years ( 10 if you filed for bankruptcy ) you cannot clean it up as the information is accurate all you can do it to re establish your credit and the best way to do that is via secured credit card b of a is the only one that is the lowest application fee once you have establish regualr payments, the card goes from secure to non secure |
